Hey Manouj!

Rather than send you to a dedicated portfolio site I thought I'd show you my stuff here on my personal site. Generally it is a blog but I repurpose it from time to time depending on what I'm working on. As you can see it has a hand drawn quality, which is something I have incorporated into several designs.

The most recent project, which is currently underway is Fortnight. Fortnight is a summer camp in Seattle, Washington where campers team up with carpenters to build the ultimate treehouse. As a design for a camp catering to young adults, it had to be fun and young. However, Since parents were ultimately the ones paying for the camp, the design had to be professional enough to ensure them that their kids were in good hands.

Before working on Fortnight, I created a new website for Smoke Farm. An NGO north of Seattle, Smoke Farm needed an online identity that was as varied as the people they served. Largely a haven for artists, poets, and other self-proclaimed "free-thinkers," the traditional art feel was again the way to go. I did my best to bring in some of the scenary of the Pacfic Northwest into this design while keeping it simple and true to the roots of the organization.

By now you may be thinking "that's great, but can you do anything that's not hand-drawn"? Good question. To demonstrate a bit more range, I'm attaching some clips of print designs I've worked on that have more of a modern look.

Finally, you'll see on my CV that I spent the last year in the states working for the University of Puget Sound. I did a few different things there, but most of my time was spent putting together materials for their ad campaigns. I ran an ad campaign that went out to over 200,000 students nationwide, and was integrated into the overall look and feel of the university's website.

The materials below are part of a highly succesful campaign I put together that increased response rates dramatically while cutting costs for the admission department. The basic message here is that while most of the web design work I've done has had a specific look, my goal is always to please the client, and the challenge of making sure that they are pleased with the outcome is why I love design.

If you're interested in writing samples, I also have extensive experience as a writer and editor in a variety of styles. Just let me know. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the work your company is doing, and thanks for having a look at mine.

Best wishes,

Peter
